Next week will see over 30,000 gaming professionals take to San Francisco for GDC, the Game Developers Conference. From the 14th to the 18th, game designers, developers, producers, artists and business leads will exchange ideas and look towards the future of the industry, supported by big names such as Unity, Oculus and Valve presenting the HTC Vive.
As part of this view of the future of the games industry, Nick Button-Brown, the Head of Games at Improbable and formerly GM of Games at Crytek, will be discussing the OASIS, a sprawling virtual utopia that forms the basis of the cult novel Ready Player One. Is such a vast virtual reality confined to science fiction, or is the technology that makes it possible already at our fingertips? Don’t miss Nick’s session at 10am, Thursday 17th March, to find out why the OASIS is NOT science fiction, and how SpatialOS can help make it happen.
The Improbable team will be at GDC and about town across the week. Keep an eye on @Improbableio for updates on the latest, and catch up with the team for a chat at @nickbuttonbrown and @MichaelDonoghu4.
