Customer Deployment Engineer, Defence

Join our defence and national security business and you’ll be helping users plan and train to meet the most complex security threats in the world. Working alongside experts in AI and Machine Learning, computational modelling and distributed systems, you’ll be putting multiplayer technology to life-saving use.
The Mission of a Solution Deployment Engineer is to provide DevOps knowledge and hands on capability throughout development and at customer sites in a solution deployment role. Using cloud platforms eg Azure, GCP and AWS technologies such as kubernetes, docker, build pipelines, terraform, Ansible, and scripting (Python/Bash). You will work with development teams, partners, and customers to solve integration and configuration issues and ensure successful deployments of our solutions. You will embody our values and serve as a technical representative of the company at customer locations. You will identify and ensure the solution is deployed in the appropriate operational environment e.g. power, cooling, bandwidth.

Area of Impact

  • Support releases for events or exercises by executing deployments as required by governing projects on the cloud or on standalone server hardware. 
  • Resolve/Assist in resolution of deployment issues throughout development from your assigned squads/project teams 
  • Support the 1st line responders in solving escalated customer and partner integration and deployment issues 
  • Build, document and improve deployment processes for assigned project teams
  • Provide knowledge transfer sessions across the team 
  • Manage the installation of portable server hardware within Improbable office or at customer site. 
  • Plan and manage the requirements such as space, power, cooling, cables and auxiliary hardware so the equipment can be installed and run wherever it is required 
  • Performance test the cloud and standalone environments to ensure they scale appropriately under load without a degradation in performance 
  • Resilience test the cloud and standalone environments to ensure that if there is a failure it automatically recovers without a degradation in performance. 
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance
