Cyber Security Engineer

Remote - UK

Job Vacancy Background
Work on ground-breaking multiplayer titles, push the boundaries of games technology and virtual worlds, or get to grips with some of the world’s toughest security challenges. If your ambitions are high, we’ll give you the tools, support and culture to take them even higher.
About us
At Improbable, we believe that the next revolution in entertainment and society will come from massive virtual worlds. They will create new economies and opportunities globally, changing not just how we play, but how we work and relate to each other. That’s why we’ve made it our mission to build the next generation of technologies for online multi-user games and simulations. At Improbable, you are surrounded by people who want to improve everything and everyone around them, and who compel you to improve yourself. We’re motivated by the fulfilment of solving hard problems to achieve something profound and transformative.
Your Mission
As a Security Engineer you will be supporting and working with our internal development teams across multiple disciplines and projects.
You will be expected to investigate and solve problems with internal systems and the infrastructure upon which they live. Working closely with the Central Engineering team who build custom solutions you will aid them in deployments, CI/CD and infrastructure management. Alongside this you will serve as a resource and advisor for the wider business with similar tasks.

Areas of impact

  • You will maintain internal CI/CD systems with your team, helping others within the company to achieve their CI goals.
  • You will work closely with engineers to solve problems they are facing with cloud systems.
  • You will explore new technologies and functionality of existing systems to help continuously improve our processes.

We'd like to hear from you if you identify with the following:

  • You are highly experienced with CI/CD concepts and systems.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure/orchestration technologies (Terraform, Ansible, K8s etc)
  • You are motivated by a desire to learn and to share your knowledge with others and shine in an environment of shared learning.
  • Experience ingesting restful APIs and webhooks.
  • You are ’re familiar with operating in production, inside cloud-native infrastructure using one or more large scale cloud platforms
  • An interest in the inner workings of enterprise platforms such as Google Workspace and Azure Active directory.
  • You are customer focussed and enjoy solving problems to help teams succeed.
While we think the above experience could be important, we’re keen to hear from people that believe they have valuable experience to bring to the role. If you identify with the team and mission, but not all of our requirements, then please still apply
