Operations Manager, M2

London

Job Vacancy Background
Work on ground-breaking multiplayer titles, push the boundaries of games technology and virtual worlds, or get to grips with some of the world’s toughest security challenges. If your ambitions are high, we’ll give you the tools, support and culture to take them even higher.
At Improbable, we’re bringing together technology and games to create new opportunities and experiences. In order to achieve this, we need unique perspectives from diverse people, empowered to revolutionise how online games are made, delivered and paid for.
We believe one of the biggest, most impactful changes to the way we live our lives is going to come from the medium of games. Realising new communities, societies and vocations through virtual worlds is what drives our people and gives them purpose.
Improbable is building M2 (MSquared), a network of interoperable metaverses.
This is a new venture incepted by Improbable; this role will initially span both M2 (customer) and the parts of Improbable working as a service provider to M2 (the Metaverse Group) and other 3rd parties.
The Operations team is here to make the business run effectively. Our focus is to drive operational excellence while helping to deliver against business goals. We do this by following the processes, reviewing outcomes, and lessons learned, and optimising our approach as we go. We work across the business, so you’ll get to work with people across our engineering, project delivery, and ops teams.
Your Mission
As Operations Manager, you will act as the lead for Operations Management for the overall M2 endeavour. This role is the bridge between the aspirational goals of the organisation and realism of what is achievable - the bridge between the two in the strategy process for M2.
You will report to the VP Operations & Finance for M2 and will be working closely with the M2 leadership team / GM (dependent on structure) to ensure they have the right tools, processes, structure and resources for the organisation to achieve its goals. You will manage the goal setting process with M2’s leadership. You will own tracking against the agreed plan and measures of success.
Improbable will act as a service provider to the M2 organisation. You will drive the definition of an Operating Model for the overall aims of the M2 project and own its ongoing management of all core business units, inclusive of content, technology, commercial and B2B. This will require maintaining strong relationships across multiple disciplines of the leadership team, inclusive of HR & Finance
